Elections 2016: Democratic
A bombshell report was released Wednesday morning by the inspector general of the State Department that quite simply stated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server setup violated department rules.
Though Clinton and her supporters have long maintained that she had done nothing wrong, and had no intent to do anything wrong, those excuses have been thoroughly debunked by the IG report.
According to The Hill, one particular message referenced in the report revealed that Clinton clearly had the intent to keep her personal emails and server from the access and oversight that goes hand-in-hand with a government email account.
In a series of messages in 2010 between Clinton and her right-hand, Huma Abedin, the longtime aide suggested that her boss use an official State Department email account, ostensibly to keep her messages from “going to spam” or otherwise getting lost or misfiled.
Clinton rejected that suggestion, writing back, “Let’s get separate address or device but I don’t want any risk of the personal being accessible.”
This clearly showed that Clinton took deliberate steps to avoid the oversight and access that federal record keeping rules require for all government officials, particularly those at the head of a cabinet-level department.
Also of note is the fact that the State Department was unclear on exactly how they came to be in possession of this message, as it was not contained in the batch of emails Clinton turned over in 2015 once the email scandal became public.
It was quite possible that this message was one of the more than 30,000 “personal” emails that Clinton choose to delete instead of turning over, though it remained unclear how it was recovered, if that is indeed the case.
The email scandal for Hillary Clinton only continues to get worse as more information comes out, and now that we all know for sure that she had the intent to avoid the requisite oversight and access of government communications, it has become that much more difficult for her and her supporters to sweep this under the rug.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word that Hillary deliberately attempted to prevent government access to her emails.
