Obama Labels Hiroshima Bombing “Evil” … But This 1 Tweet SLAPS Him Down Hard
In August of 1945, President Harry S. Truman ordered the atomic
bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and in doing so, he put he an
effective end to World War II, which had already taken an untold number
of lives.
While the nuclear annihilation of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki was
indeed horrific, it was neither unjustified nor “evil,” though not
surprisingly, President Barack Obama expressed the very opposite while
speaking in Hiroshima on Friday.
“We may not be able to eliminate man’s capacity to do evil, so
nations and the alliances that we form must possess the means to defend
ourselves,” he said. “But among those nations like my own that hold
nuclear stockpiles, we must have the courage to escape the logic of fear
and pursue a world without them.”
How about having the courage to recognize what spurred U.S.
involvement in World War II in the first place — namely the actions of
Japan — as well as the countless atrocities committed by the then-empire
state? Japan’s sneak attack on Peal Harbor left 2,403 Americans dead
and another 1,178 wounded. Likewise, the Bataan Death March, whereby
thousands of American and Filipino prisoners in the Philippines were
forced to march a hundred miles without water or food, left somewhere
between 5,000 and 11,000 people dead.
But even these atrocities pale in comparison to Rape of Nanking,
during which Japanese soldiers laid waste to the capital city of
then-Nationalist China and murdered somewhere between 200,000 to 400,000
men, women and children.
Imperial Japan was barbaric and expansionist in the extreme. Pictured: Rape of Nanking.#NotSorryWeNukedThem pic.twitter.com/R6hqcdUhLg— KeepCalmAndDrawl (@FormerlyFormer) May 28, 2016
In labeling the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as “evil,”
Obama did more than justsurreptitiously apologize for America’s actions
in World War II. He also excused the behavior of Japan, which at the
time was acting like an expansionist, genocidal aggressor.
In fact, if anyone should have issued an apology on Friday, it should have been the leaders of Japan …

having used atomic bombs on it to end World War II!
